Yesterday I attended a science slam in Reinoldikirche in my city.
Science slam is as -if not more- popular as poetry slam. For those who don't know about it: Science slam is a competition where each "Slammer" (Slam artist in German) has 10 minutes to win the favour of the audience. It's not done with poetry but with scientific facts in an entertaining way ! It's a great way to pique the public's interest and maybe teach them things about current science topics in a fun way :)
I had a good time watching and listening to the presentations. There were 5 Slammer/Slammerinen. Topics were quite broad such as social behaviour in a network of children, airflow and safety in underground system, temperature in earth etc... Nothing about quantum physics, graphene or 2D materials though!
