Birthday party with solar powered animals

Yesterday I had the chance to supervise a Birthday party of 8 ten year old girls at the explorhino of the Hochschule Aalen. In a 1.5h course, we learned about current, electrons, the functionality of a battery and solar cells. After building several small current circuits, the girls could use their creativity to build small animals that start to dance around as soon as you shine light on them or place them in the sun. I think I had at least as much fun as the girls.
