Yesterday German students from the last year of high school had the chance to visit our physics faculty in the so-called 'Tag der Physik'. Several talks and experiments were prepared by all the groups. For instance, our group (AG Scheer) organised experiments with liquid nitrogen and high-temperature superconductors and AG Belzig, where the ESR7 Danilo Nicolić belongs, gave a speech about the double-slit experiment.
These activities, besides covering well-known physics concepts, also included more recent topics related to our current research. We gave a theoretical explanation about mechanical break junctions and a simplified experiment was prepared to show in live the previous theory. Finally, students had also the opportunity to visit some of the research laboratories and ask questions to all the researchers working there.
