Today was the big day I have been desperately waiting for during the last couple of months:
I received the first dose of the COVID vaccine.
The development and large scale production of these vaccines in little over a year is a huge success of modern science and shows very clearly the positive impact that research can have on our society. I am very proud of our research colleagues who made this possible and I hope they will get some more recognition, once the public debate about vaccine scarcity will be over.
To all of you who still have to wait for your first shot: stay strong and save! Your turn will come soon!
