Yesterday, nanoGUNE had its 11th anniversary. Like every year the PhDs of our institute organized a small workshop. The day started with some interesting talks from scientist in industry focusing on the transition from academia to the "real world". In the afternoon, all employees and guests had the chance to visit the labs and participate in a little scavenger hunt. (Francesco bravely overcome his cold and presented his crossword about the PPMS lab). The day ended with a informal poster session, where all PhDs presented their current work. (My job was to make sure, every PhD hang up their poster, so I was happy that all stands were filled). Everybody seemed to have interesting conversations and enjoyed the day in general, so we are looking forward to the next birthday.
